Celebrating Father's Day in Style

Father's Day is on June 17th this year, and it's right around the corner! Have you figured out how you'll commemorate Dad and everything he's done for you? We have a few great ideas, and unsurprisingly they surround the best wine at the Lake of the Ozarks. This year we're hosting an All You Can Eat Shrimp Buffet to help make celebrating dad easy! If you'll be at the Lake of the Ozarks for Father's Day, here are all of the details to make for a fun day, plus a few fun facts about how the holiday got started to begin with.

Celebrate Father's Day with All You Can Eat Shrimp!

Summer afternoons call for great food, ice cold drinks, live music, and fun games. Father's Day calls for all of that and then some! We've got a great lineup of food and live music to keep the day rolling, and make for an easy way for YOU to celebrate the dad in your life. Join us on June 17th from 11 AM to 5 PM for an all you can eat shrimp buffet, complete with a salad, baby new potatoes, breadsticks, and chocolate chip cookies for dessert. You have to make your reservations, though, so visit our website or click HERE to make online reservations. The seats are limited, and we don't want you to miss out. You can also give us a call at 573-317-0100 to make your reservations.

This delicious buffet will be served from 11 AM to 5 PM and costs $15.99 per person. PLUS, if you purchase two meals, you get a FREE carafe of Sangria. Let's make it all about Dad and bring him for a very special afternoon.

Live Music & Games!

Don't think we've forgotten about the entertainment! We've got great live music from the Adam & Steve Duo playing from 1-4 PM. They will be bringing a great atmosphere to the event, and we can't wait for you to hear them play.

In addition to the fun live music, we'll also have games of cornhole to play on the patio. It should come as no surprise, but we'll also be serving up your favorite wine or craft beer, too. No matter what dad loves to drink, we've got it on tap or in the bottle.

Fun Facts About Father's Day

Father's Day hasn't been around nearly as long as Mother's Day. That doesn't change the fact that we love our dad's and are glad to have a day to celebrate them. Here are a few facts about the day and how it all got started.

The Very First Father's Day

The first Father's Day was unofficially celebrated on July 5th, 1908 when a West Virginia church hosted an event that explicitly honored father's. During the Sunday sermon, 362 men who had died in coal mine explosions were honors in a one-time commemoration.

The Start of the Tradition

One year after the celebration of dad's, Sonora Smart Dodd, who was one of six children raised by a widower, got the ball rolling for celebrating Father's Day. She did have some success when Washington State held the first statewide Father's Day on July 19, 1910.

It Took 60 Years

The road to getting Father's Day secured as a national holiday was a long one. It actually took sixty years to get the concept established. President Woodrow Wilson tried to start it, and finally Lyndon B.  Johnson declared that the third Sunday in June would be Father's Day - even though it was not made a permanent national holiday. Nixon was the president who officially declared it a holiday in 1972.

At Seven Springs Winery, we celebrate our owner and founder, Mike Bleile who is not only a dad, but whose sons work for the winery as well. You MUST Celebrate Moscato Day

There’s something subtly romantic and brightly flavorful about a chilled glass of Moscato. Thankfully, we get a whole day dedicated to this incredible wine variety every year on May 9th. We have a delightful Moscato wine at our Lake of the Ozarks winey that you absolutely have to try - but in the meantime, here are a few interesting things to know about Muscat wines, where they come from, how they’re made, what you should pair them with and more!

Seven Springs Muscato Sparkling

Our Muscat isn’t your typical glass of wine. We’ve taken an average wine and made it amazing by bringing out the brilliant, light straw color and enhancing the tropical fruit & flowery flavors that are so well loved in a glass of Muscato. Ours is light bodied but has that wonderful fruit forward sparkling finish. It’s a wonderful glass of wine to sit down and enjoy a warm spring or summer evening and perfect when you want to toast to a wonderful event.

A Few Facts About Muscato Wine

• Moscato wine comes from the Muscat grape.
• Moscato wine is generally sweeter than other wines
• Muscat grapes have become popular in other parts of the world, such as Chile!
• Moscato wines have a high concentration of flavonoid (similar to red), which means that it’s considered a healthy wine! It’s high in antioxidants, too!
• The Muscat grape is the only fine wine grape that can double as a table grape!

What Should You Pair with Our Muscato Sparkling

If you aren’t sure what would pair well with our Moscato Sparkling wine, we have a few suggestions! Of course, if you really want to get the scoop, come check out our menu. We have a wine pairing with each meal selection.

• Brie-style cheeses or mascarpone cheese with a sweet bread.
• Buttery cream sauce or even buttered popcorn!
• Shrimp, shellfish, smoked salmon, caviar, fried calamari, and oysters.
• Salami, veggies, stuffed mushrooms, egg dishes, foie gras.
• Fruit-based desserts like crepes, tarts, or a buttery, honeyed dessert.

Big Weekend at the Winery!

There's always something fun happening at Seven Springs Winery. From amazing live music, fun events, or just a good old wine tasting - you can count on us. This weekend we have some amazing stuff lined up for you, so continue reading to make sure you don't miss anything happening at the Lake of the Ozarks best winery!

Double D

First up on the docket for the weekend is Double D coming out on Friday night and playing from 5 -8 PM. They are fun and energetic, and we are so glad that they could come from St. Louis to grace the Seven Springs stage. If you haven't heard of them before, here's a short bio from their website to introduce you.

"You'll find talented, energetic musicians and entertainers when The Double D takes the stage! the St. Louis Missouri-based husband and wife duo of Dan and Denise Kuse always showcase a high-energy music performance in a full-sounding duo format, featuring classic rock (and more) from the 50's through the 90's. 

The Double D also performs as a 3-hour Eagles Tribute show "Bald Eagle", and as a Bob Seger Tribute and CCR show as well. 

Dan has opened show for artists as diverse as REO Speedwagon, Air Supply, Charlie Daniels, Three Dog Night and many others. Come on out and see what it's all about!"

Doe Camp

Next up for this weekend is the well-loved Doe Camp! This is a great opportunity to get out and enjoy a day at the winery with your girls. We'll have some amazing vendors with fun gifts that you can keep in mind for Mother's Day - or treat yourself ;). Our full menu will also be available so you can stay at the winery all day long. Not to mention, we have your favorite Missouri Wines chilled and ready. All of the fun is happening on Saturday, May 5th from 12 PM to 5 PM. Stop by, grab a drink, shop around, and hear some smooth tunes from our next performer ...

Shawn C

Shawn C is a local legend at the Lake of the Ozarks. He will be playing for our Doe Camp event, and we are so excited to feature him at our Lake of the Ozarks event. He'll be playing all afternoon on Saturday, May 5th, so make plans to be here! If you aren't familiar with his musical talents, here is a bio from his website:

"Twenty-year-old singer/songwriter Shawn C was born and raised at the Lake of the Ozarks. Shawn started performing publicly in 2009, and in the summer of 2011 he began playing regularly at lakeside restaurants. 

Shawn studied in Nashville and received his audio engineering certificate from Dark Horse Institute in 2015. He is now back at Lake of the Ozarks performing, producing and recording. 

Shawn wrote, performed and produced his second album, Love Is, in 2013.
Lake Lifestyles Magazine featured Shawn in Oct. 2012 as “The Lake’s Youngest One-Man-Band,” and he was the recipient of the 2012 Outstanding Youth Award from the Camdenton Area Chamber of Commerce. During his 2012 season he released his first album, Chasing Echoes. Shawn has made a variety of radio appearances, and 101.9 The Wave has aired several of the tracks from his CD."

Garry Lincoln

We always love when Garry comes out to play his tunes. He is a wonderfully acclaimed artist, and you will probably recognize his name from playing at other Lake of the Ozarks venues. Garry Lincoln will be performing at Seven Springs Winery on Sunday, May 6th, from 2 PM to 5 PM. If you aren't familiar with him, here's a snippet from his website!

"Garry Lincoln was born in Columbia, MO and was raised in Blue Springs, MO. He started singing different genres at a young age and loved watching all of the music award shows as a kid. It wasn’t until the age of 15 with the influence of Randy Travis that he got the urge to delve into country music. By the age of 18, he started writing his own songs. He knew how he wanted them to sound, but he didn’t know how to play the guitar so he acquired the help of friends but it still didn’t sound the way he had envisioned. A few years later, Garry picked up a guitar and taught himself to play by. 

Garry received an offer from a major producer in Nashville to come out and work on a record deal. In 1995, as a single father trying to support his son, he moved to Nashville where he came close to getting a record deal several times. When asked what it is about Nashville that made him want to be there his reply is simple, “It was always my dream to be there, to be in the same place with all the big stars and to try and reach what many of my friends called the impossible dream.” While in Nashville, he sang demos, continued to write songs, and opened for many artists. He stayed in Nashville for about 4 years before returning to the Kansas City area in order to care for his growing family."

Roger Francis, as seen on RFD TV, has toured and performed all over the world, the General Jackson Showboat, and even The Grand Ole Opry. Roger has been blind since birth, but that doesn’t stop him from being one of the best impersonators you have ever heard. Roger can do hundreds of impressions, everyone from, Willie Nelson, John Anderson, George Jones, Ray Charles, Elvis, Paul Harvey, James Taylor and many others. He is simply an amazing entertainer!

Fall FUN at the Winery

Fall doesn't officially start until September 22nd, but that doesn't mean we aren't getting ready! The Lake of the Ozarks is breathtaking during the fall months, and if you thought our view was amazing before - you'll LOVE it during fall. The rolling hills, the bold orange and red colors, and the crisp air are just a few things we love. Seven Springs Winery ALSO love all of the fun events that are happening at the winery! Mark your calendars because the fun is just getting started.

Grayson Wood

The Lake's original winery LOVES Grayson Wood. He's a hybrid classic of Americana, cowboy songs, country, and southern rock. Entertaining comes easy to this incredible performer, and we can't wait to have him back on Friday, September 29th. He's a Missouri boy at heart, and while his wheels have rolled over most of this great country, we love having him back time and time again. You'll want to get this event on your calendar because we get quite the crowd!

Sax on the Beach

Sax on the Beach is one of our MOST loved performers. They spend the entire summer with us on weekends, and that doesn't change this fall! They will still be performing at the winery on Saturday and Sunday afternoon from 2-6 PM most weekends through October. Bill and Haley would like to invite you out to enjoy an afternoon with them. They'll be featuring old and new favorites alike, but home hungry and plan to enjoy lunch or dinner! the kitchen will close one hour prior to closing.

Doe Camp

While the men are in the woods, the women are at the WINERY! Doe Camp is BACK on November 11th and the best winery at the Lake of the Ozarks will be filled with all types of vendors offering everything under the sun. So while the guys get lost in the woods, it's the perfect time to get lost at the winery for some retail therapy. Jewelry, unique clothes, purses, candles, scented items, and MORE. Get this day on your calendar and get some Christmas shopping done at the same time.

Live Music

We will have our incredible live music out at the winery for you on Saturday, July 22nd. We love having Sax on the Beach out here, and apparently you do too! They are a regular here at our Lake of the Ozarks winery, but we are especially glad to have them for our Fireworks Spectacular! They'll be playing from 2 PM - 6 PM, and then start back up around 7 PM until the fireworks show! If you've never been apart of the Sax on the Beach crowd, you'll be in for a real treat. They are famous performers at the Lake of the Ozarks and beyond - we hope you enjoy them!

We have 13 varieties of wine at our Lake of the Ozarks winery, and we would love to pour you a glass (or uncork a whole bottle!) for you. From white to red, and Missouri wine to other varieties - we have a great selection to choose from. We have a delicious Muscato Sparkling with a light body and a sparkling finish - perfect for a relaxing day on our patio with a fresh breeze. We also have a Norton with full bodied flavors and a spicy smooth persistent finish that can accompany many of the items on our menu for a delicious meal and wine pairing.

Take a Hike

Did you know that we have walking trails on our property? Our winery is located in the beautiful heart of the Ozarks and nestled into the beautiful rolling hills. When you're looking for a place to enjoy your afternoon, surrounded by nature (and wine) Seven Springs Winery provides that for you. You can also find a few hidden gems on the hiking trail as well. From a cave that is nestled into the trail to the ruins of the original Linn Creek school house.

Boot Stomping Revival with Grayson Wood

Seven Springs Winery has been bringing you some of the best musicians at the Lake of the Ozarks all summer, and it's not even close to ending. We are honored to have a boot stomping event with Grayson Wood from Eldon, MO. His smooth tunes and smoky voice are sure to entice you to come ou and sit on the patio with a bottle of wine in your hand. Here are a few important details about the event that you won't want to miss.

Boot Stomping Revival with Grayson Wood

Join us for great music and a delicious BBQ buffet on Friday, July 29th from 6 PM to 9 PM. Grayson Wood will be entertaining us with his fantastic music, and we're looking forward to hearing him. The buffet is $15 per person, and the kitchen closes at 7 PM for regular menu items.
