Seven Springs Winery Fireworks Spectacular

This is one of the highlights of our summer, and we look forward to it every year. In essence, it’s our Fourth of July celebration at the Lake of the Ozarks, but just a little later so that you don’t have to choose between so many other celebrations. This year all of the fun will be on Saturday, July 21st, so you’ll want to mark it on your calendar and make plans to be there! Until then, here are a few of the fun details you can expect from the event.

The Fireworks Spectacular at Seven Springs Winery

We’re pulling out all of the stops this year for an incredible celebration. We have a delicious BBQ Buffet, plenty of seating options for optimum viewing, and more. If you’ve never had the opportunity to join us for one of these fun events, you won’t want to miss out.

Making a Day of It!

If you’re coming in from out of town, be sure to check with us on hotel reservations that we recommend if you don’t have one already. We have some incredible businesses at the Lake that we love to work with, and would be honored to recommend to you.

If you are coming in from far and wide, we also would love to see you for the entire day! We have a beautiful facility here that is filled with nature, life and beauty. In fact, if you haven’t been here before, you’ll notice as soon as you come onto the property how breathtaking it is. Rolling hills, undisturbed nature, and peaceful breezes make for the most serene place to kick back and enjoy a glass of wine with your friends of your significant other. If you have need for adventure, we have a hiking trail here at our winery that would be a wonderful way to enjoy the afternoon.

You can enjoy 2.4 miles of scenic walking trails that will take you by all seven springs on the property. Not to mention, you‘ll also get to see the original Linn Creek one-room school house foundation and a cave! You can even grab a basket with a blanket, 2 stemless wine glasses and a bottle of your favorite Seven Springs Wine for only $49.00 and enjoy an early afternoon picnic before the festivities begin.

Celebrate With Us!

Seven Springs Winery is proud to celebrate our TENTH anniversary as a business! We are the Lake's original winery, and can' believe that a decade has already passed. A lot has changed in the last ten years, from adding to our facility with new buildings and spaces for weddings at the Lake of the Ozarks, continuing to grow fantastic grapes, clearing out hiking trails on our property, and bringing you so many incredible events musicians and more! We have had a great ten years and we want to celebrate with you. Here are all of the details about our fun 10-year celebration coming up THIS WEEKEND!

Celebrate TEN Years with Seven Springs Winery

The ten-year anniversary party for our winery is right around the corner. Join us THIS Sunday, June 24th to get the party started. Aside from having incredible wine (obviously!) we have games, live music and delicious food planned out for the day. It's going to be fantastic! 1. Go Hiking
We have some beautiful hiking trails that you can enjoy while you're here for the day. You can also catch some cool sights while you're out on the trail, like the foundation of the first Linn Creek schoolhouse, all seven of the springs on our property, and more!

2. Try Some Wine
We have a special place in the winery just for wine tasting (duh!). We have thirteen varieties of wine, 2 of which are grown right on our property - the best Missouri wine! From vibrant whites to bold reds, there are plenty to enjoy and we would love to show them off to you.

3. Enjoy The Patio
We have a recently landscaped patio in the back of our winery and it is beautiful. It's the perfect place to kick back, relax, and enjoy live music, a bottle of wine, and the best food at the Lake of the Ozarks.

We’re Going on a Picnic & We’re Bringing WINE!

June 18th is Picnic Day, and we couldn’t think of a better way to get out and enjoy the wonderful summer weather and a glass of wine than on a picnic. Seven Springs Winery is the best place to plan your next picnic because we’re nestled quietly in the Ozark hills with beauty and peace surrounding us. Here are a few wonderful ways to enjoy our beautiful Lake of the Ozarks winery AND a picnic this weekend!

Delicious Food

Seven Springs Winery has a wonderful selection of food to tempt the palate! Many of our delicious choices are easily packed into a picnic basket and enjoyed out in nature as well. Here are a few selections we think are the best:

Beautiful deep plum color with refreshing, Crisp fruit flavors & a distinct sweet finish.

Preparing for Your Engagement Photo Shoot

One of the biggest events of your life has happened - congratulations!! We are so excited to celebrate your engagement with you! Of course, the preparations for the NEXT biggest event of your life are now underway as you prepare for your wedding day. One of the first tasks you’ll want to check off of your list is your engagement photos. These will be used in many different locations, from your wedding website with the details about your day to the wedding invitations, and more. So it’s worth it to invest a little bit of time in making these great. Here are a few tips that your favorite Lake of the Ozarks winery has to help with the process!

Prior To Your Engagement Shoot

There are a few tasks that you can accomplish before your engagement photo shoot. With a little preparation, you can have a wonderful session.

Find Your Photographer
There are MANY photographers, but there is a much smaller number of excellent photographers. If you care about quality over price, you may need to do some research ahead of time to find the photographer that matches your style and needs. If you care about something cost effective, you’ll be able to find a photographer for that as well. If you aren’t sure who you should use, be sure and ask us for suggestions. As a Lake of the Ozarks wedding venue, we see many photographers come through, and can help point you in the right direction of a photographer that you’ll love.

Choose Your Wardrobe
You can rely on Pinterest for some color schemes and styles, but try not to get too trendy with your wardrobe. You’ll want to look back in 20 years and not laugh at the outrageous outfit that you wore! You can also rely on the season to give you an idea of color schemes. If you really aren’t sure what to wear, you can ask your photographer for suggestions. They spend a lot of time looking at different couples and people with different outfits, so they will naturally have an idea of what looks good. Typically you want to stay away from bold patterns and stick to solid colors or very minimal patterns.

Talk About Your Insecurities
Do you “hate having your photo taken”? Many people do, but if you are willing to talk to your photographer about this, they can help. Whether you have a specific feature you dislike, or don’t feel amazing in your body - your photographer can help you find poses that will mask the things you don’t like, and highlight the things that you do! Of course, keep in mind that most people are hardest on themselves, so what you feel insecure about, most likely no one has ever even noticed.

Find the Best Location
Do you and your spouse have a special place that you’d like to have your photos taken in? That’s perfect! Make sure you tell your photographer so they can scout it out ahead of time and be prepared for any unusual situations. This can include lighting issues, high levels of traffic, or even weather challenges. If you aren’t sure where you want your photos taken, ask your photographer where they suggest. In many cases, they have a list of locations that they love to take photos in. If you’re getting married at the best winery at the Lake of the Ozarks, you could consider doing your engagement shoot here, as well! We have plenty of great backdrops in our scenery to make for an amazing collection of images!

During Your Engagement Shoot

This can be a little overwhelming for those who don’t like to have the photo taken, and often times can be a lot of pressure on men. Here are a few ways you can get the most from your session!

Block Out the Photographer
It’s true, kissing in front of someone, especially someone taking your photo can feel a little awkward. Do your best to block them out, ignore the sound of the shutter clicking, and just focus on your fiancé. Better yet, plan a few things to “do” at your engagement session that will help loosen you up. Whether that’s riding your favorite horses, playing with your dogs, or even engaging in an activity that you enjoy together like hunting, dancing, etc. This can help take your mind off of the person behind the lens, and put your focus on each other - plus, it can make for some really special photos!

Trust Your Photographer
It may feel weird to hold a specific pose, but your photographer can see what you can’t. These poses can be incredibly special, especially when you finally see the “big picture.”

After Your Engagement Shoot

This can be the hardest part but now is when a little patience is required.

Be Patient With Your Photographer
While it may feel like a big deal for you to prepare for your engagement session, and then pose in the photos AFTER the shoot is the biggest portion for your photographer. Now they have to go through all of your photos and choose between hundreds to thousands of shots that are all great, but just a little different from each other. After they choose the photos, they have to edit them - both of these processes can take some time. Give your photographer a break, and wait for them to get your gallery done. Trust us - they want you to see it just as much as you do! Hopefully, they’ll be able to post a few “sneak peeks” along the way, though.

Handle Your Photos Properly Afterwords
Many photographers will tell you this, but try to refrain from adding extra filters and editing their photos. You paid them because you trusted their experience, continue to trust them now. If you’ll be sharing the photos on your social media, make sure to credit them for their work. This ensures that everyone knows where the photos came from, and can even help get them some more business! Every photographer has different things they will request, so make sure to check with them when you pick up the final copies of your photos!

You MUST Celebrate Moscato Day

There’s something subtly romantic and brightly flavorful about a chilled glass of Moscato. Thankfully, we get a whole day dedicated to this incredible wine variety every year on May 9th. We have a delightful Moscato wine at our Lake of the Ozarks winey that you absolutely have to try - but in the meantime, here are a few interesting things to know about Muscat wines, where they come from, how they’re made, what you should pair them with and more!

Seven Springs Muscato Sparkling

Our Muscat isn’t your typical glass of wine. We’ve taken an average wine and made it amazing by bringing out the brilliant, light straw color and enhancing the tropical fruit & flowery flavors that are so well loved in a glass of Muscato. Ours is light bodied but has that wonderful fruit forward sparkling finish. It’s a wonderful glass of wine to sit down and enjoy a warm spring or summer evening and perfect when you want to toast to a wonderful event.

A Few Facts About Muscato Wine

Moscato wine comes from the Muscat grape.
Moscato wine is generally sweeter than other wines
Muscat grapes have become popular in other parts of the world, such as Chile!
Moscato wines have a high concentration of flavonoid (similar to red), which means that it’s considered a healthy wine! It’s high in antioxidants, too!
The Muscat grape is the only fine wine grape that can double as a table grape!

What Should You Pair with Our Muscato Sparkling

If you aren’t sure what would pair well with our Moscato Sparkling wine, we have a few suggestions! Of course, if you really want to get the scoop, come check out our menu. We have a wine pairing with each meal selection.

Brie-style cheeses or mascarpone cheese with a sweet bread.
Buttery cream sauce or even buttered popcorn!
Shrimp, shellfish, smoked salmon, caviar, fried calamari, and oysters.

Roger can do hundreds of impressions, everyone from, Willie Nelson, John Anderson, George Jones, Ray Charles, Elvis, Paul Harvey, James Taylor and many others. He is simply an amazing entertainer!

Getting to Know Your Wine Glass

Depending on the type of wine snob that you are, you may or may not care about what glass your wine is in. In fact, if you’re a true wino, you may not even need a glass to begin with! However, because being “fancy” is acceptable every once in a while, we thought we’d take a few moments to talk about the infamous wine glass and what types of wines taste the best in them. After all, if you can enjoy the Lake of the Ozarks best wine even more in a special glass - why not?!

Get To Know Your Wine Glass

We’re going to get a little technical on you (just kidding, we’re not really *wink*), by introducing you to the different parts of your wine glass.

The Foot

This is the bottom of your glass that allows it to stand up. Some glasses don’t have this (such as stemless), and some have a stem without a foot (think of those floating wine glasses).

The Stem

This is the part of the glass that allows you to hold your wine glass without the heat from your hands warming your wine. It also allows you to not create smudges on the bowl which can distract from the visual appeal of your wine.

The Bowl

The most obvious reason for the bowl is for holding the wine - but there are many others, along with variations in the bowl shapes. Typically, the glasses will be tapered upward with a slightly narrower opening at the top than at the bottom. This helps you to capture and distribute the wine’s aroma toward your mouth and nose.

You can also notice that the bowl of a wine glass can be designed to allow an amount of surface area that is perfect for the type of wine. A red wine glass has larger surface areas so that the wine can breathe, while white wine glasses have smaller surface areas. This is also why champagne glasses have a very small amount of surface area so that it will retain its carbonation.

The Rim

If you want a great experience from drinking your wine, the rim is where it’s at. The thinner the rim, the less that the glass distracts from the wine as you sip. A good wine glass has a cut rim that is smooth to the touch. This allows the wine to flow out of the glass without any inhibitions. A less expensive glass may have a rim that is rolled or bumpy. This is still quite functional and even practical for everyday use, but if you’re aiming for superior snobbery, it can distract from the wine.

The Color

The best color for showing off the clarity of the wine is going to always be clear. It can be fun to choose other colors with decorations, but if your goal is to admire the appearance, you can’t go wrong with a crystal clear glass.

Have Your Wine & Drink It Too

Whether you enjoy your wine in a crystal glass or a red solo cup - the key is to make sure you have the best wine at the Lake of the Ozarks. Not only do we have the best wine around, but we also feature some of the best Missouri wines. Our Vignoles and Norton are grown on site, so you can both drive by and appreciate the rolling hills of grape vines, but then come sit back at the winery and enjoy a glass of your favorite while listening to live music at the Lake of the Ozarks. Getting Wicked With Wine

It's going to be a wicked time at the winery when you come out for the Wicked Wine Run! You can race through the vineyards and trails of the beautiful Lake of the Ozarks in Linn Creek, MO. Our newly designed trails are through fields and woodland hills. They provide both a challenging and surreal adventure in the heart of Missouri for any runner or wino. Of course, the best is yet to come when you get to enjoy the WICKED POST RACE PARTY! Keep reading to learn more about this incredible Lake of the Ozarks event and how you can participate.

The Race Details

Race through the vineyards and trails of the beautiful Lake of the Ozarks in Linn Creek, MO. The newly designed trials are through fields and woodland hills providing a challenging and remarkably surreal adventure in the heart of Missouri. Good stable trail running shoes are a standard as the course can be a challenging in some areas.The start time for the 5K Wicked Run begins at 5:00 pm and the 1K Wicked Tasting Walk begins at 6:30 pm. 5K runners must complete the course in 1 hour. Runners who participate in BOTH the 5K Fun Run and the 1K Walk must make the start time of the 1K. No exceptions. Waves of runners will be released on the course with 5-minute intervals in between waves. Runners and ALL attendees must be 21 or older to participate.

Top finishers for the 5K win premium Wicked Wine Swag, prizes and bragging rights to boot. This untimed wine-fueled fun run is untimed but the top three male finishers and top three female to cross the finish line win Wicked Wine Run awards.

If you can’t make it, you can send a friend– just make sure you signed your online waiver, give him/her a copy of your ID and your confirmation email. Race day packet pick up is available, but let’s face it– waiting in line for ages just plain sucks when all you want to do is run and get wicked.
