Spring Wine Drink Recipes

Spring is in the air - and our in our cups! There's nothing quite like kicking back on the patio during a wonderful spring day with your favorite wine in your hand. Of course, if your favorite Lake of the Ozarks wine is turned into a spring concoction - that's even better! Here are a few delicious sounding recipes that you can use this season to enjoy the warming temps, the delicious spring breeze, and of course, that incredible wine from Seven Springs Winery.

Sparkling Red Wine Sangria

This beverage could be easily used for Spring or Summer - but it's spring now, and we want wine! Check out this easy recipe from Real House Moms and see for yourself how wonderful it is.

Ingredients
1 bottle of Seven Spring's Spring Red
1 apple cored and sliced
1 orange sliced and quartered
1/4 cup orange liqueur
1/4 cup apple juice
sparkling water sparkling apple juice, or prosecco

Instructions

1. In a glass container, combine wine, fruit, liqueur, and apple juice. Refrigerate a minimum of 1 hour, but at least 4 hours is recommended.
2. To serve, pour sangria and a scoop of fruit into an ice-filled glass. Top with sparkling water, sparkling apple juice, or prosecco, depending on preference.

Rosemary Infused Grapefruit Mimosa

Do you want to know what our favorite thing about mimosas is? They are acceptable to start in the MORNING! Try this Sweet and savory from Beautiful Eats & Things, and don't forget to tell us what you think!

Ingredients4 ¼ cups Ruby Red Grapefruit Juice chilled
1 sprig rosemary and additional for decor
1 bottle Muscato Sparkling
Optional: grenadine

Instructions

1. In a large pitcher, add rosemary and ¼ cup juice. Muddle rosemary into juice and let sit for about 5 minutes. Be careful not to break leaves off stem.
2. Add the rest of the juice and champagne. Stir to make sure that all ingredients are thoroughly mixed.
3. Optional: For additional sweetness add 1 tsp of grenadine to the champagne glass before pouring.
4. Garnish with rosemary and Enjoy!

Call Me A Cab Vodka Lemonade Wine Cocktail

This drink isn't only tasty, but it's beautiful! It will look great at your next spring soiree, or for a quiet dinner at home. Check out this recipe from Having Fun Saving!

IngredientsIce
6 oz lemonade
1 oz vodka
2-3 oz Seven Spring's Seven's Red Heaven

Instructions

1. Place the ice in your desired cup
2. Pour in the vodka
3. Pour in the lemonade
4. Stir gently
5. Slowly pour on the Cabernet Sauvignon
6. Enjoy!

Blueberry Lavender Sangria

The delicate floral flavors make this ideal for a light spring picnic. It's elegant to look at, but even EASIER to whip up! Try out this recipe from Lively Table and see for yourself.

Ingredients For the lavender simple syrup:
1/2 cup lavender sugar*
1 cup water
1/2 tsp lavender extract

For the sangria:
Ice
1 tbsp lavender simple syrup
1-2 tbsp fresh blueberries
4 oz Seven Spring's Spring Fling

Instructions

1. To make the lavender simple syrup: In a small saucepan, combine lavender sugar and water. Bring to a simmer, stirring to dissolve sugar. Remove from heat and let cool to room temperature. Stir in lavender extract and strain into a glass jar. Store in the refrigerator. 
2. To make sangria, fill a glass with ice. Add lavender simple syrup, blueberries, and prosecco. Stir gently and enjoy! 
3. To make a pitcher: Add a pint of blueberries and 1/3- 1/2 cup simple syrup to a pitcher. Add one 750 ml bottle or prosecco. Stir and serve over ice. 

Notes
*I make lavender sugar by mixing a couple tablespoons of food grade dried lavender buds with about 1 cup of sugar in a jar, and letting it sit at least overnight.

Getting Wicked With Wine

It's going to be a wicked time at the winery when you come out for the Wicked Wine Run! You can race through the vineyards and trails of the beautiful Lake of the Ozarks in Linn Creek, MO. Our newly designed trails are through fields and woodland hills. They provide both a challenging and surreal adventure in the heart of Missouri for any runner or wino. Of course, the best is yet to come when you get to enjoy the WICKED POST RACE PARTY! Keep reading to learn more about this incredible Lake of the Ozarks event and how you can participate.

The Race Details

Race through the vineyards and trails of the beautiful Lake of the Ozarks in Linn Creek, MO. The newly designed trials are through fields and woodland hills providing a challenging and remarkably surreal adventure in the heart of Missouri. Good stable trail running shoes are a standard as the course can be a challenging in some areas.The start time for the 5K Wicked Run begins at 5:00 pm and the 1K Wicked Tasting Walk begins at 6:30 pm. 5K runners must complete the course in 1 hour. Runners who participate in BOTH the 5K Fun Run and the 1K Walk must make the start time of the 1K. No exceptions. Waves of runners will be released on the course with 5-minute intervals in between waves. Runners and ALL attendees must be 21 or older to participate.

The Wicked Wine Run at the Lake of the Ozarks!

Whether you're a runner, or you're only a runner when there is wine at the finish line - it's time to suit up for the Wicked Wine Run! This is the second time we've held this event at Seven Springs Winery, and it is a BLAST. Last year we had an amazing turnout, and we're looking forward to even more this year. Not only will it be a fun evening of running and walking, but there is a LIVE concert back at the best winery at the Lake of the Ozarks along with many contests to win, and of course, WINE! Here are some details if you are registered for this great event.

There are a few things you need to know about this event as you prepare for it, from the start times to the way you'll pick up your packet for the race - we don't want you to miss anything! This event is always SO much fun - it's time to get ready because you'll be "adulting" this weekend.

PRE-RACE PACKET PICK UP - Tan Tar A Resort will be hosting pre-race packet pick up on Friday, May 12th, 2017 11 am to 8 pm at 494 Tan Tar A Drive, Osage Beach, MO 65065. To pick up your packet bring a printed or digital copy of your confirmation email with the QR code on it. If you can't make it, you can send a friend -- just make sure you signed your online waiver (you signed this waiver when you Registered) give him/her a copy of your ID and your confirmation email.

Can't find your confirmation email? Simply search your inbox for "Registration confirmation for Wicked Wine Run". Additional race swag, merchandise, and event parking passes (General $10) are conveniently available during packet pick up.

Race day packet pick up is available, but let's face it - waiting in line for ages just plain sucks when all you want to do is run and get wicked, and have wine *wink.*

While Seven Springs Winery is typically known for its Missouri Wine, we also serve a small menu of microbrews for those with an alternative pallet. End of Summer, Beginning of Fall Bash

Delicious Wine & Cheese Pairings!

There is nothing more surreal than finding the perfect wine and cheese combination. On it's own, wine has an amazing taste, scent and flavor, and the same can go for cheese. When combined, you find that they play off of each other in a beautiful, flavorful duet, that can't be compared to any other flavors around. Here are a few wine and cheese pairings to get your mouth watering!

Chardonel

Soft cheeses are great pairs for chardonel. Try brie, feta, goat, mascarpone, muenster and newfchatel.

Traminette

Hard mature-flavored cheeses pair nicely with fuller white wines and light reds, a nice match would be a sharp cheddar.

Vignoles

Blue Cheese pairs well with sweet white wines, full bodied reds and fortified wines.

Muscato Sparkling

Medium - Firm cheeses pair well with our muscato, look for sheep and cow's milk cheeses.

Pinot Noir

A goat cheese or brie would be a wonderful combination with our pinot noir.

Norton

The hard intense cheeses pair well with the more tannic red wines, you can't go wrong when you try Asiago, Gruyere, Parmesan, Reggiano with our delicious norton!

Sangria Rojo

You want something strong and flavorful to stand up to the rich flavor of the Sangria, so we would suggest a Pepper Jack.

Our winery is quietly nested in the rolling hills of Missouri, with a quiet relaxing environment.  Our winery has been around for 7 years and we have established a repertoire in the community as the best winery at the Lake of the Ozarks. We would love to prove it to you!
