The Best Way to Celebrate Dairy Month

While we're a much bigger fan of Wine Month than Dairy Month, there are some huge advantages to dairy month - like wine! Wine and cheese have always been a dynamic duo that people love to pair together, and so, the only way we can imagine to enjoy this cheesy month is by chilling a bottle of wine, popping the cork and seeing which wines go best with which cheese. Here are a few pairings that can help get you started!

Dry Vignoles

Aromas of Tangerine and oranges. Crisp vibrant acidity precedes a long and refreshing finish pair wonderfully with many varieties of cheeses.

  • Blue Cheese
  • Cheddar (semi-hard or semi-soft)
  • Dry Jack
  • Monterey Jack
  • Swiss

Chardonel

Think of soft cheeses when coming up with the perfect combination of dairy and wine. This light to medium straw colored wine has a medium body and is fruity with toasted oak.
  • Brie
  • Feta
  • Goat
  • Mascarpone
  • Muenster
  • Neufchatel

Traminette

Hard mature-flavored cheeses pair nicely with fuller white wines and light reds. Our traminette is a light straw with green hues. Light bodied, with a fruity yet off dry finish.
  • Sharp Cheddar

Vignoles

This wine features a mid-straw color with olive green tone. Flavorful bodied, peach, melon & citrus flavors combine well with cheese. These are the ones we recommend.
  • Gorgonzola
  • Blue Cheese

Spring Fling

With a light straw color and a lime green rim, plus a light bodied fruity, citrus & lychee flavor, you can't go wrong with any cheese and this wine. Sweet and salty go well together, and this sweet wine loves dairy.

Syrah

Aromas of currant, blackberry, black pepper with a subtle vanilla oak finish pair wonderfully with rich flavorful cheeses.
  • Cheddar (semi-hard and earthy)
  • Dry Jack
  • Goat's Milk Cheese
  • Monterey Jack
